Animal (2023)

Where should I begin? Well, the screenplay was a bold venture for Indian subcontinent audiences, and the meticulous execution deserves applause.
This might just be the finest commercial cinema India has produced since Bahubali (2015, 2017). Despite its length, it's worth every minute. I didn't realise how I breezed through 200 minutes in one go, thanks to the gorgeous score and a pretty solid story.
While there are moments of silliness, like traveling from Scotland to Delhi with a bloodied and half-naked body 😂 that also in the blink of a minute, however, the overall entertainment factor is undeniable. It's not going to be an Oscar contender, but it's bound to rake in a significant amount of money—perhaps even breaking previous records.
This film encompasses everything you'd expect from commercial cinema: over-the-top action, grudges, politics, romance, and, most importantly, emotions that make it a perfect package. The buzz around Lord Bobby's entry on social media is justified; it's an amazing casting choice for a role that leaves a lasting impact on the screen.
Last but not least, Ranbir Kapoor's outstanding performance deserves special mention, elevating the film with a brilliance that combines the depth of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and the charisma of the Bollywood Khans. He truly embodies a complete package of talent and star power.
In summary, it's a well-crafted commercial film that keeps you engaged until the very end—even during the credits, where a surprise awaits.
Trivia 1: the film was shot in Saif Ali Khan’s home-Pataudi Palace.
Trivia 2: from the maker (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) of Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh.
Trivia 3: The director edited the whole film himself 👏
Highly recommended 🙌 and happy watching 😎🎬
